I think we’ve had this conversation around here before, but I always feel like the obvious argument against intelligent design (or creationism more generally) is that humans are actually piss poorly designed. Brittle bones, easily punctured skin, an immune system that will turn against itself, reproduction and waste disposal using the same parts, vision is poor and always failing, bad hearing, bad sense of smell, only two sets of teeth for a life time (which don’t even all fit), slow, not particularly strong… like that gets a failing most design classes.

Intelligent design was never intended to actually make sense. It’s bullshit dressed up in vaguely scientific language - deliberately deceptive, thinly disguised creationism.
The guy who first proposed it had some interesting ideas and questions (although he very well may have been motivated by theistic belief). Irreducible complexity is an idea that would constitute a valid critique of the theory of evolution (even though the supposed examples of it did not actually show irreducible complexity).
But everything past that initial idea is exactly as you describe. The court case which invalidated the teaching of ID showed that the primary textbook that was being used to teach intelligent design was shown to simply be a version of creationist text where simply replaced all references to creationism with intelligent design (and I mean that in a literal sense).

I agree, and the rational offered for this particular form of executive privilege in US v Nixon was:

So you could actually argue that the person giving advice/counsel holds the privilege rather than the president. But as I’ve said, there’s very little case law on it, and is one of the few remaining grey areas of constitutional law.

You have to remember that everything with Trump is about theatrics, about style (and appearance) over substance, and so video of cheering “fans” is part of an overall picture of a presidency that is totally riding high. Broken record here: polls are not worth the pixels that display them. We are living in a Literary Digest world where getting a true random sample of the voting population has become a herculean task that may have reached the “impossible to perform successfully” stage. Even ignoring this obstacle, at this point in the election cycle, most people are not paying much attention and won’t until the field has dwindled significantly in size. In any case, who knows what news or dishonest stories will seize the public imagination during the general election.

Yeah perch is good eating. And walleye eat the perch and are good eating too. When out fishing as night is falling and something annoying is hitting your bait. Just small enough to not be able to get the bigger hook into its mouth, you know it is perch moving through. And give it a bit and the walleye will be through following the perch. My next door neighbor was really interested in getting German Shepherds about 15 years ago. So she did research, identified contacts, and worked with a breeder. She ended up adopting three from various places and of differing ages. When they passed due to age, she adopted 3 more.
She mentioned that the obedience classes were extremely important. Not only for her to relate to her dogs, but also to ensure that the doggos were well behaved towards others. (Such as neighbors, like me, and passersby.) And yes, she is the undisputed alpha. I have never seen any of the puppers ever challenge her.

I learned how to play in the junior high and senior high bands. The only time we marched was during homecoming football games. I learned how to play the drum kit by stacking 45’s on a record player and playing along with them (songs like ‘Incense and Peppermints’ by the Strawberry Alarm Clock). I was always pretty song oriented and wasn’t really interested in soloing.
